About the design
We moved to Kawartha Lakes 5 years ago and it changed our lives. The air has a different smell. The earth is rich, and I’ve taught myself how to grow a garden to feed our family. I am constantly in awe that this special place is now my home. This painting is inspired by two photographs I took - one of a beautiful barn overlooking sweeping fields, and a murmuration of birds that flew over our property one summer afternoon. It captures the feeling I have of gratitude for this beautiful place I enjoy every single day.
About the artist
I earned my Honors BFA from York University, have spent 20 years teaching art independently, through art galleries and other organizations. I am a painter and also a printmaker, specializing in linoleum relief prints.
