2026 Wine of the Year Ā· Artist

I would often see ospreys in the areas where I would go walking with my dog, and found them to be so majestic, proud and triumphant, and yet so elusive as they would fly away the moment you approach no matter how high up they build their nests. Their striking patterns and features were always captivating and so I thought they would be a great addition to my white-gel-pen-on-black-paper body of work.
Growing up in the Kawarthas, surrounded by nature and wildlife, instilled in me a deep passion and empathy for the natural environment that is a typically reflected in my work. Though wildlife art is my favourite subject to paint/draw, Iām continuously exploring other subjects, styles and mediums to satisfy my creative spirit, find my voice as an artist and create art that is a force for positive change in the world. The list of mediums that I have extensively worked in include watercolours, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, pencil, and even stone sculpting. No matter the medium or the tools, I always work in a meticulous manner of layering and fine detail work to ensure the character and essence of my subject shines through.
